Wrong Way Up is a album by Brian Eno and John Cale.. The album sits between the electronic, prog-rock and art rock genres and features some of both Eno and Cale's most mainstream work. The cover was conceived by Eno. The re-release on All Saints Records was remastered and had a different cover. It contained two bonus tracks, "Grandfather's House" and ″You Don't Miss Your Water Genre: Art rock.

Thirty years on from its initial release, ’s Wrong Way Up remains one of the most beloved LPs in both Brian Eno and John Cale’s impressive back-catalogues. Despite the pair having made music together since the mids, Wrong Way Up was their first official link-up.

May 10,  · most of Eno and Cale's solo works have been reissued in the last couple years so it would be excellent to see this get the same treatment. one of the best "pop" efforts from both of their careers. if it does get reissued it'll probably be with the CD cover and not the amazing and hilariously dated original sleeve art.4/5().

2 days ago · These two icons, working in harmony on Wrong Way Up, is a joy to experience – whether it’s your first time or your hundredth. Of course, they’d already worked together – as well as the mythical June 1, album with Eno, Nico and Kevin Ayers, Cale provided viola on Eno’s magnum opus Another Green World, and ’s Music for Films.
  7. Nabar says:
They remained friends, and the year prior to Wrong Way Up, Eno produced Cale’s Words For The Dying album. This paved the way for the pair to write and record an album together, notably the first time Eno had delivered a collection of song-based recordings since Before And After Science in The resulting album is a triumph for both.

The Great Albums: Rock legends didn't let discord stand in the way of greatness. October 5, BY JIM DeROGATIS POP MUSIC CRITIC. On paper, the pairing looked ideal: Two English art-rock legends, John Cale and Brian Eno, coming together to craft the sort of buoyant, uplifting pop album that neither had made in more than a decade.
