In the mean time I was going to rip a few disks. Some will show the list of songs and artwork, but they won't rip on itunes or windows media player. Is this likely to be a hardware or software issue? I should hope these days it't not a hardware issue. I've ripped the CD's in the past on the other laptop and the disks are clean and scratch free.

Discussion in 'Other PC Software' started by robls99, all the songs say that they have been already "Ripped To Library" and no matter what I try it won't let me re-rip. It obvious keeps some flag somewhere where it knows that it has previously been ripped. I found that if you check off the.

If you use copy protection for the tracks that you rip from a CD, you'll need media usage rights to play, burn, or sync the ripped files. Media usage rights give you permission to use a protected file in a particular way. If you copy the files to another PC and try to play them, you might be asked to download media usage rights for that PC.

May 31,  · This means that short of scratching the CD or physically damaging it in some other way, you can’t lose the contents of the CD. Ripping a CD with Windows Media Player (or iTunes or any other CD ripper) makes a copy of the contents of the CD in a different file format, without changing the contents of the CD.
